AI Dashcams for Fleet Safety & Video Telematics

Three commercial AI dash cameras: the road-facing K145, the K245 with a driver-facing camera and driver alerts, and the multi-camera K265. Video lands in MapTrack, and every camera ships with a pre-activated SIM.

Why AI dashcams are essential for fleet safety

Fleet dashcams have evolved far beyond simple video recorders. Modern AI-powered dash cameras combine high-definition video recording with intelligent driver behaviour analysis, delivering proactive safety insights that reduce accidents, lower insurance premiums, and protect your business from liability.

The road-facing camera captures continuous 1080p footage of the driving environment, providing indisputable evidence for incident investigation and insurance claims. Where a camera has a driver-facing lens, as the K245 does, on-device artificial intelligence detects distracted driving, phone use, fatigue, smoking, and seat belt violations in real time - alerting drivers before an incident occurs.

Every video clip is automatically tagged with GPS coordinates, speed, date, and time, creating a complete audit trail that links driver behaviour to specific locations and routes. Fleet managers can review footage, generate driver safety scorecards, and identify coaching opportunities from the MapTrack dashboard.

MapTrack AI dashcams connect to the same platform as your GPS trackers and Bluetooth beacons, giving you a single pane of glass for fleet visibility, asset tracking, and driver safety. There is no third-party software to run and no separate vendor console to log into.

Insurance and compliance benefits

Many fleet insurers offer reduced premiums for vehicles fitted with AI dashcams. Video evidence from dual cameras protects against fraudulent claims and disputes. Driver monitoring data provides documented proof of safety training compliance and fatigue management, which is increasingly required under Australian chain of responsibility regulations.

AI dashcam FAQ

On the K245, the driver-facing infrared camera uses on-device AI to detect risky behaviours in real time, including distracted driving, phone use, fatigue (yawning, eye closure), smoking, and seat belt violations. When a behaviour is detected, the system can trigger an in-cab audible alert and send a video clip with GPS location to MapTrack for review. The K145 has no driver-facing camera, and the K265 driver alert setup is confirmed with your quote.

You do not need a separate carrier account. The dash cam ships with a pre-activated SIM that MapTrack manages, so there is no third-party contract to set up, and video clips and telematics data upload to the MapTrack platform over 4G LTE. The camera does run on a monthly MapTrack plan, and we quote that alongside the hardware so you can see the full monthly cost before you order.

The K245 ships with a 128GB card and the K265 with two 512GB cards, both recording on a continuous loop; the K145 card is confirmed with your quote. Older footage is automatically overwritten when storage is full. Critical event clips (harsh braking, collisions, AI alerts) are protected from overwrite and uploaded to the MapTrack cloud for long-term storage and review.

Yes. On the K145 and K245, every clip is stamped with GPS location, speed, date and time, creating an auditable record for incident investigation, insurance claims and compliance audits. On the K245, road and driver footage together show what happened inside and outside the cab.
