The Limble Alternative With Reservations, Native GPS and 150+ Data Sources

MapTrack is the best Limble CMMS alternative for asset-first operations: per-asset pricing with unlimited users, built-in reservations, native GPS and 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources.

Teams switch from Limble when they need built-in asset reservations, unlimited users without per-seat fees, or native GPS tracking and broad telematics beyond manual meter entry. At 100 users on Limble Premium+, licensing is $82,800/year before add-ons - MapTrack scales per-asset, not per-headcount.

TL;DR - Limble CMMS vs MapTrack

  • Limble CMMS is the #1-rated CMMS on G2 (4.9/5, ~500 reviews) with strong work orders, preventive maintenance, parts inventory and condition monitoring. Per-user pricing: free Basic / Standard ~$28/mo / Premium+ ~$69/mo / Enterprise custom (annual). First CMMS to ship an MCP server (Jan 2026). At 100 users on Premium+ = $82,800/year.
  • MapTrack is built for asset-first operations (construction, civil, mining, facilities) with native GPS tracking, 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources, built-in reservations, offline-first mobile, AS/NZS-aware templates and per-asset pricing with unlimited users. Tracking, compliance and maintenance in one platform.
  • Choose MapTrack if you need reservations, per-asset pricing with unlimited users or OEM-driven maintenance. Choose Limble if deep CMMS (parts, condition monitoring, work-order depth) is the priority and a free entry tier matters.

What is Limble CMMS?

Limble CMMS is a US-based cloud computerised maintenance management system rated 4.9/5 on G2 (~500 reviews) and 4.9/5 on Capterra, consistently recognised as a top CMMS. Founded by Bryan Christiansen, headquartered in Lehi, Utah. Designed for work orders, preventive maintenance, parts inventory, asset management and condition monitoring. Known for an intuitive interface, strong mobile app with offline work order capability, and rapid product velocity.

Limble rebranded from limblecmms.com to limble.com in 2026 under new CEO Gary Specter. In January 2026 it became the first CMMS to ship a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, exposing platform data to Cursor and Claude Code for AI-driven workflows. The Asset Snap (nameplate OCR) and AI PM Builder features shipped in early 2026. Limble offers a free Basic tier with limited features. Paid plans (Standard ~$28/seat/mo, Premium+ ~$69/seat/mo annual, plus custom Enterprise) add preventive maintenance, parts management, advanced reporting, integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams and ERP connectors, and API access. Per-user pricing applies across all paid tiers. Regional AU API endpoint at au-api.limblecmms.com.

Why teams look for a Limble CMMS alternative

Limble is a strong CMMS for maintenance-first teams. Teams typically look for alternatives when their needs go beyond CMMS depth or when per-seat pricing compounds at scale:

Per-seat pricing compounds at scale

At 100 users on Limble Premium+ ($69/seat/month annual), licensing costs $82,800/year before any add-ons. MapTrack is per-asset with unlimited users - roll out to every operator and subcontractor without a per-seat penalty.

Reservations and planning

Limble does not have a built-in asset reservation feature. MapTrack includes reservations standard on all plans, letting teams reserve assets by job, see fleet availability and avoid double-booking across sites.

OEM telematics breadth vs API-glue

MapTrack integrates 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources directly. Caterpillar, John Deere, Geotab, Samsara, Motive and more. Limble integrates telematics partners such as Motive for meter sync but lacks 150+ direct-OEM breadth, so wider fleets lean on manual meter entry or third-party API connections.

Native GPS vs no GPS hardware

MapTrack ships GPS trackers (incl. ultra long-life battery) for real-time asset location, trip history and geofences. Limble does not include native GPS tracking or location services.

RBAC and API on every plan

MapTrack includes RBAC and a public API on all plans, with SSO and Active Directory on Enterprise (a Pro add-on). Limble also gates SSO to higher-tier plans, so compare the plan each platform puts identity management behind for mid-market teams.

Unlimited users for field teams

Limble's per-user pricing grows with headcount. MapTrack's unlimited-user model lets you roll out to every operator, driver and subcontractor without per-seat cost.

How MapTrack compares to Limble CMMS

Which is more affordable for large field teams?

MapTrack is per-asset with unlimited users. Limble Premium+ at 100 users costs $82,800/year before add-ons.

MapTrack uses asset-based pricing with unlimited users - operators, supervisors, subcontractors and managers all get access at no additional per-seat cost. Limble's Standard plan is ~$28/seat/month and Premium+ is ~$69/seat/month (annual), with custom Enterprise pricing above that. A free Basic tier exists with limited functionality. At 100 users on Premium+ annual, licensing is $82,800/year before any add-ons - and that grows with every new hire. Per-user pricing was the most-cited cost pain in Limble reviews when teams scaled past 50 users on G2 and Capterra. For teams with 20+ field workers, MapTrack's model can be significantly more cost-effective.

Which has asset reservations?

MapTrack has built-in reservations standard. Limble does not have a dedicated reservation feature.

MapTrack includes built-in reservations and a planning view on all plans - reserve specific assets by job, see availability across the fleet and avoid double-booking. Limble does not have a built-in asset reservation feature for booking specific assets to specific jobs across date ranges. Work order scheduling exists, but a planning view that prevents double-booking specific assets between crews is not in the public docs. If reservations and asset scheduling are a core workflow, this is a significant differentiator. Verify with Limble whether reservation functionality has been added in 2026.

Which connects OEM telematics?

MapTrack integrates 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources directly. Limble integrates telematics partners but lacks 150+ direct-OEM breadth.

MapTrack integrates 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources directly. Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Geotab, Samsara, Verizon Connect, Motive and more to ingest engine hours, odometer, fuel consumption, fault codes and DTC alerts. This data powers automated maintenance triggers and geofence-based utilisation reporting. Limble integrates telematics partners such as Motive for meter sync, but lacks 150+ direct-OEM breadth, so wider fleets often key in meter values manually or build integration glue themselves. If your fleet depends on broad telematics-driven maintenance, MapTrack's directory removes more of the manual or API-glue layer.

Which has native GPS tracking?

MapTrack ships native GPS trackers. Limble does not include native GPS hardware or services.

MapTrack integrates GPS trackers, including ultra long-life battery units for real-time asset location on a map, trip history and geofence-based entry/exit alerts. BLE beacons add proximity detection in sheds and laydown areas. Limble does not include native GPS hardware or live location services - GPS data can flow in via third-party integrations or API connections to telematics providers, but the platform itself does not ship GPS trackers. For tools, small plant and equipment that need to be located across job sites, MapTrack's integrated GPS and BLE ecosystem is a significant advantage.

Which has better compliance and pre-starts?

MapTrack attaches pre-starts to each asset. Limble uses work order checklists and condition monitoring.

MapTrack keeps compliance evidence attached to each asset: pre-starts, inspections, certificates and audit trails. Failed inspection items auto-trigger work orders. The AI form builder lets you create inspection forms by uploading a PDF or describing what you need. MapTrack ships AS/NZS-aware templates you adapt to your standard (test-and-tag intervals, EWP/SWP prestart regimes, AS 3760 electrical); it does not certify conformance. Limble handles inspections through work order checklists and condition monitoring - strong for maintenance-driven compliance. MapTrack's approach ties inspection evidence directly to the asset record, useful for regulatory audits, pre-start reporting and AU/NZ AS/NZS compliance.

Which has better maintenance?

Limble has deeper CMMS (parts, condition monitoring, work-order depth). MapTrack adds OEM-driven triggers and asset-first links.

Limble is the #1-rated CMMS on G2 (4.9/5, ~500 reviews) with strong work orders, preventive maintenance, parts inventory and condition monitoring. The mobile app is well-regarded for technician workflows. In Jan 2026, Limble shipped the first CMMS MCP server, exposing data to Cursor and Claude Code for AI-driven workflows. MapTrack integrates live OEM telemetry (engine hours, odometer, fault codes) to trigger work orders automatically - no manual meter entry. Inspections escalate to work orders automatically. For teams where OEM data drives maintenance schedules, MapTrack's automated triggers reduce manual effort. For teams needing dedicated parts management and condition monitoring, Limble has more CMMS depth.

Which is better for enterprise?

Both are enterprise-capable. MapTrack includes RBAC and API on all plans, with SSO on Enterprise; Limble gates SSO to higher tiers.

Both platforms support enterprise security. MapTrack includes RBAC and a public API on all plans, with SSO (Azure AD, SAML) and Active Directory on Enterprise (a Pro add-on). It is hosted on AWS Sydney with AU data residency by default, and regional (EU/US) hosting is available on Enterprise. Limble offers SSO and advanced security features on higher-tier plans (Premium+) and provides a public API plus integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams and ERP connectors. Limble runs a regional AU API endpoint at au-api.limblecmms.com but is US-headquartered. For organisations that need RBAC and API on every plan plus AU data residency with AS/NZS-aware content, MapTrack covers both.

Frequently asked questions: Limble CMMS vs MapTrack

MapTrack is asset-first: tracking, reservations, GPS and compliance attached to each asset, with maintenance triggered by 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources. Limble is a top-rated CMMS focused on work orders, preventive maintenance, parts inventory and condition monitoring (G2 4.9/5, ~500 reviews). If your primary need is mobile-asset accountability and field workflows, MapTrack's architecture fits better. If fixed-plant maintenance depth (parts, conditions, technician procedures) is the priority, Limble has more CMMS depth.

Limble uses per-seat pricing: a free Basic tier; Standard ~$28/seat/month; Premium+ ~$69/seat/month (annual); Enterprise is custom. At 100 users on Premium+ annual, licensing is $82,800/year before any add-ons - and that grows with every new hire. MapTrack uses per-asset pricing with unlimited users, so operators, supervisors, subcontractors and managers all get access without a per-seat penalty. Per-user pricing was the most-cited cost pain in Limble reviews when teams scaled past 50 users.

Limble does not state a dedicated asset reservation feature for booking specific assets to specific jobs across date ranges. Work order scheduling exists, but a planning view that prevents double-booking specific assets between crews is not in the published documentation. MapTrack has built-in reservations standard on all plans - reserve specific assets by job, see availability across the fleet, and avoid double-booking. Verify with Limble whether reservation functionality has been added.

MapTrack offers AI-assisted asset creation (snap a photo, MapTrack suggests asset details) and AI form creation (describe a form or upload a PDF and MapTrack builds it). Limble shipped Asset Snap (nameplate OCR for asset creation) and an AI PM Builder in early 2026 - both strong AI capabilities. Limble was also the first CMMS to ship a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server (January 2026), exposing data to Cursor and Claude Code. Both vendors are investing in AI; the focus is different - compare in a pilot for your specific use case.

MapTrack integrates 150+ telematics, fleet and fuel-card data sources (Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Geotab, Samsara, Verizon Connect, Motive and more) to ingest engine hours, odometer, fuel, fault codes and DTC alerts - powering automated maintenance triggers. Limble integrates telematics partners such as Motive for meter sync, but does not offer 150+ direct-OEM breadth, so wider fleets often rely on manual meter readings or third-party API connections. If your fleet depends on broad telematics-driven maintenance, MapTrack covers more sources without a manual or API-glue layer.

An asset-first platform like MapTrack is built around the asset register. Every compliance record, work order, reservation and maintenance schedule ties to a specific asset. Reservations, GPS location, compliance evidence and service history all live on the asset record. A CMMS-first platform like Limble is built around work orders and maintenance procedures. The asset register exists but the primary UX flow is work-order-first. For teams where 'who has this asset, where is it, when is it available' is the primary question, MapTrack's architecture fits better. For teams where 'when is this machine due for service and what parts do I need' is primary, Limble's CMMS depth is stronger.

Limble does not include native GPS hardware or live location services. GPS data can flow in via third-party integrations or API connections to telematics providers, but the platform itself does not ship GPS trackers. MapTrack integrates GPS trackers, including ultra long-life battery units, for real-time asset location on a map, trip history and geofence alerts. BLE beacons add proximity detection in sheds and laydown areas. For assets without OEM telematics already fitted (tools, small plant, light equipment), MapTrack's tracker ecosystem is more flexible.

Yes. MapTrack is mobile-first with offline standard on all plans. Field teams can scan, assign, complete forms and submit work orders without connectivity, syncing automatically when back online. Limble offers a mobile app with offline work order capability. Both handle offline workflows; verify the depth for your specific field requirements in a pilot. MapTrack's offline architecture is built for remote AU mining and construction sites with extended periods without signal.

Export your asset register and work order history from Limble as CSV (Limble supports standard CSV export). Upload into MapTrack and AI-assisted import auto-matches your column headings. Our onboarding team maps your sites, categories and custom fields. Guided setup and crew training are included. Most teams are operational within a week.

Per-asset pricing with unlimited users enables enterprise rollout without per-seat cost escalation. Limble offers SSO and advanced security features on higher-tier plans (Premium+ and above) and provides a public API plus integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams and ERP connectors. Compare the plan each platform gates SSO behind for your team.

Yes. MapTrack is Australian-founded and hosted on AWS Sydney with AU data residency by default to keep data in-country for AU teams. The template library is AS/NZS-aware (test-and-tag intervals, EWP and SWP prestart regimes, AS 3760 electrical inspection cadence) and you adapt each template to your standard; MapTrack does not certify conformance. Limble operates a regional AU API endpoint at au-api.limblecmms.com but is US-headquartered with US-default content and templates. For AU teams in mining, civil, councils or facilities where AS/NZS compliance is the regulatory baseline, MapTrack ships local-ready content you tailor.
