Fleet Tyre Management & Lifecycle
Tyres are one of the biggest controllable costs in a fleet, and the easiest to lose track of. MapTrack puts every tyre on a 2D and 3D map of the vehicle, tracks tread, pressure, cost per km and age per position, and flags Good, Monitor or Replace before a worn tyre becomes a breakdown or a fail.
Trusted by mining, civil and transport fleets

What is tyre management software?
Tyre management software is a system for tracking the condition, cost and lifecycle of every tyre across a fleet. MapTrack records tread depth, pressure, cost per kilometre and age for each fitted tyre, maps tyres to their exact position on the vehicle, and flags a Good, Monitor or Replace status so worn tyres are caught before they fail. It runs in the same platform as your maintenance and work orders, pre-start inspections and GPS and fleet tracking, so tyre condition sits next to everything else you manage on the asset. It is built for the vehicle and heavy-plant fleets that run across mining, civil and transport.
Why teams track tyres properly
Untracked tyres are quietly costing you
Tyres are one of the largest operating costs in any heavy fleet, behind fuel and labour, yet they are often managed on paper or not at all. When you cannot see tread, pressure and cost per km per tyre, you replace too early, run too long, or get caught by a blowout. Here is how MapTrack fixes each problem.
Worn tyres slip through to failure
A tyre below tread is a blowout, a downtime event and a safety risk waiting to happen. MapTrack flags every tyre Good, Monitor or Replace from its tread so the ones that need attention are obvious before they fail.
Paper tread checks get lost
Tread cards in the glovebox never make it back to the office. MapTrack captures tread and pressure per position on mobile, with photos, stored against the vehicle and synced even from remote sites.
No visibility of cost per km
Without cost per tyre, you cannot tell a cheap tyre from an expensive one. MapTrack tracks spend and cost per kilometre per tyre so you can compare brands, positions and vehicles on real numbers.
Replacing too early or too late
Calendar guesses over-service good tyres and miss worn ones. MapTrack bases replacement on actual tread, pressure and usage so each tyre is changed at the right time, not too soon and not too late.
How it works
From axle layout to replacement, on one record
Every tyre is tracked on the vehicle, from the first inspection to the day it is replaced.
Build the axle layout
Set up the vehicle in 2D or 3D: steer and drive axles, single or dual wheels, and as many axles as it has. Each position becomes its own tyre record.
Inspect tread and pressure
Operators run a quick inspect or a detailed inspection on mobile, recording tread, pressure and photos per position, online or offline.
Status flags automatically
MapTrack scores each tyre Good, Monitor or Replace from tread and pressure against your thresholds, and surfaces what needs attention.
Track cost and replace
Cost per km, spend and age build up per tyre. When one hits Replace, raise a work order and the lifecycle history carries on with the new tyre.

The metrics that matter
Tread, pressure, cost per km and age, per tyre
View the same axle layout through five lenses. Each tyre carries its own numbers and its own history.
Tread depth
Tread in millimetres per position, scored against your safe and replacement thresholds to set status.
Pressure
Pressure in psi per tyre, captured during inspection or fed from telematics where it is available.
Cost per km
Spend divided by distance so you can compare tyres, positions, brands and vehicles on real cost.
Age
How long each tyre has been in service, so old stock and slow-wearing tyres are easy to spot.
Status
A clear Good, Monitor or Replace on every tyre, rolled up to how many need attention per vehicle.
Lifecycle history
Inspections, rotations and replacements logged per position for warranty, audits and resale.
Inspections to work orders
Quick checks and detailed inspections, on mobile
A quick inspect captures tread and pressure in seconds. A detailed inspection adds photos and notes per position. When a tyre comes back as Replace, raise a work order against the vehicle in one tap, and the job is tracked to completion in the same platform.

See tyre cost and risk across the whole fleet
Step up from a single vehicle to the whole fleet. See which vehicles have tyres needing attention, average cost per km, total tyre spend and replacements due, then drill into any vehicle. It is the view that turns tyre data into cost control and reporting.

Fewer blowouts
Catch worn and under-pressure tyres before they fail, reducing roadside breakdowns and downtime.
Lower cost per km
Compare tyres and positions on real cost so you buy and rotate based on what actually lasts.
Longer tyre life
Right-pressure, right-rotation and right-time replacement get more kilometres from every tyre.
Audit-ready records
Tread, pressure and replacement history per tyre, ready for safety audits and compliance.

Why tyres are worth tracking
Across heavy fleets, tyres are a major and largely controllable line item. Managing them on condition and cost, rather than on guesswork, is where the savings are.

Teams love MapTrack
We used to service on a calendar and hope for the best. With MapTrack, our excavators and trucks trigger work orders from actual runtime hours. We have stopped over-servicing low-use gear and caught high-use machines before they failed.

Common questions about tracking tyre tread, pressure, cost and lifecycle with MapTrack.
- What is tyre management software?
- Tyre management software (also spelled tire management software) tracks the condition, cost and lifecycle of every tyre across a fleet. MapTrack records tread depth, pressure, cost per kilometre and age for each fitted tyre, maps tyres to their position on a vehicle in 2D and 3D, and flags a Good, Monitor or Replace status so teams replace tyres before they fail and control cost per km across the fleet.
- What does MapTrack track for each tyre?
- Each tyre on the vehicle has its own record: tread depth in millimetres, pressure in psi, cost per kilometre, age, fitment position (for example Drive Right Outer), and a full history of inspections, rotations and replacements. The Overview panel rolls these up per vehicle into average tread, average pressure, average cost per km and total spend, plus how many tyres need attention.
- How is the Good, Monitor or Replace status set?
- Status is derived from tread depth against the thresholds you set per axle or tyre type, with pressure taken into account. Tyres above your safe-tread threshold show Good, tyres approaching it show Monitor, and tyres below the legal or replacement limit show Replace. The colour-coded 2D and 3D views and the Overview panel make tyres that need attention obvious at a glance.
- Can pressure and usage come from telematics, or is it manual?
- Both. Operators can record tread and pressure manually during a quick or detailed inspection on the mobile app, including photos. Where telematics or OEM data is available and configured, usage and related readings can feed in to keep cost per km and lifecycle current without manual entry. MapTrack connects to a wide range of telematics and management data sources.
- How do tyre inspections link to maintenance and work orders?
- A quick inspect captures tread and pressure fast, while a detailed inspection adds photos and notes per position. When a tyre hits Replace, you can raise a work order linked to that vehicle straight from the inspection, so the job is tracked through to completion in the same platform as the rest of your maintenance and pre-start inspections.
- Does it work for trucks, trailers and heavy plant?
- Yes. You build the axle layout to match the asset: steer and drive axles, single or dual wheels, and as many axles as the vehicle has. That covers rigid trucks, prime movers, trailers, water carts, graders and other heavy plant. Tracked machines without tyres are simply managed through the rest of MapTrack.
- Does tyre management work offline in the field?
- Yes. The MapTrack mobile app supports offline use, so operators can inspect tyres, record tread and pressure and capture photos on remote sites with no connection. Results sync to the dashboard automatically when the device is back online, the same as the rest of the platform.
Tyre management, linked to everything else on the asset
Tyres sit on the same vehicle record as maintenance, pre-starts, service history and GPS tracking. One place to see where a vehicle is, what condition its tyres are in, what it has cost and what is due, so nothing falls between the cracks.
