What is asset tracking reporting and analytics?

Asset tracking reporting and analytics is the insight layer that turns raw asset, inspection, work order and cost data into trended, segmented views your leadership team can actually act on. Where operational reporting shows what is overdue today, analytics shows utilisation trends across sites, mean time between failures by asset class, compliance pass-rate movement and the cost-per-asset story behind depreciation. Built-in segments, scheduled exports and BI integrations with Power BI, Tableau and Google Sheets mean executives, safety committees and finance teams get the report they need in their inbox - no manual pulls, no version control, no spreadsheets going stale on day two.

The problem

Operations sees the data. Leadership flies blind.

Spreadsheet reports go stale

A monthly report built in Excel is wrong by the second week. The numbers do not match what the field team sees.

No visibility for the exec layer

Operations can see what is overdue today, but the leadership team cannot see trends, ROI or where to invest next.

Data trapped in the platform

Asset data lives in one place, finance lives in another, the BI tool lives in a third. No one is looking at the full picture.

Manual reporting eats the week

Pulling weekly utilisation reports, monthly compliance packs and quarterly board updates by hand is a part-time job no one wants.

How it works

From raw data to board-ready insight in five steps

1

Connect your data

Asset, inspection, work order and cost data flows into one register the moment your team starts using MapTrack. Nothing extra to set up - the analytics layer is built on the same source.

2

Build segments

Slice data by site, team, asset class, project, vendor or custom field. Save a segment once and reuse it across every report, dashboard and scheduled export.

3

Schedule reports

Pick a report, choose recipients, set the cadence. Daily downtime to ops, weekly compliance pack to safety, monthly cost summary to finance. All in the inbox without logging in.

4

Export to BI tools

Push live data to Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Google Sheets or your data warehouse via API or scheduled CSV. Blend MapTrack with HR, finance and project data for cross-system insight.

5

Act on the insight

Spot underused assets, repeat-failure machines, compliance gaps and cost outliers. Reallocate, retire or replace based on numbers, not gut feel.

Built for your stack

Push asset data into the tools your team already uses

Asset analytics is most valuable when it sits next to finance, HR and project data. MapTrack supports clean integration paths with the BI tools and data warehouses Australian operators actually run, so you can blend the data without a custom build.

Power BI

Connect to MapTrack via REST API or scheduled CSV drops. Build live executive dashboards that blend asset data with finance and HR.

Tableau and Looker

Pull asset, inspection and work order data into Tableau or Looker for cross-system analysis. Refresh on the schedule that suits your stack.

Google Sheets and Excel

Schedule a daily or weekly CSV to a shared drive or Sheets file. Auto-refresh dashboards for teams that live in spreadsheets.

Reporting and analytics FAQ

What can I report on with MapTrack reporting and analytics?

You can report on asset utilisation, downtime, compliance pass rates, inspection completion, work order throughput, mean time between failures, asset depreciation, cost per asset and adoption metrics like scan frequency by user. Reports can be sliced by site, team, asset class, project, custom field or date range. The same data powers your dashboards, scheduled exports and BI integrations so the numbers always match.

Can I integrate MapTrack with Power BI, Tableau or Google Sheets?

Yes. MapTrack exposes a REST API and CSV exports that connect cleanly to Power BI, Tableau, Looker and Google Sheets. Many customers schedule a daily CSV drop to a shared drive that auto-refreshes a Sheets dashboard, or pull live data into a Power BI model for executive reporting. Talk to us about webhook patterns and data warehouse pushes for larger rollouts.

How do scheduled reports work?

You build a report once, save it as a segment and schedule it to run daily, weekly or monthly. The output emails as a PDF or CSV to the people who need it - the ops director, safety committee, finance team or client - so the report lands in the inbox without anyone logging in. Schedules can be paused, edited or recipient-changed at any time.

Can I segment reports by site, team or asset class?

Yes. Every report supports segmentation by site, project, team, role, asset category, custom field, vendor, age, status or any combination. Save a segment once and reuse it across utilisation, compliance, downtime and cost reports. This means a regional manager can see only their region, a compliance lead sees only fire equipment, and the CFO sees the consolidated view, all from the same data layer.

How is reporting and analytics different from the reporting feature?

The reporting feature focuses on operational dashboards that field teams and supervisors use day to day - what is overdue, what was scanned, what is offline. Reporting and analytics is the planning and insight layer on top: trended utilisation, board-ready summaries, scheduled exports to BI tools and segment-based analysis. They share the same source data so what you see in operations matches what the executive dashboard reports.

Are dashboards updated live?

Yes. MapTrack dashboards reflect changes in near real time. When an operator scans an asset, completes an inspection or closes a work order, the data flows through to the relevant dashboards within seconds. Scheduled exports and BI integrations refresh on the schedule you set so downstream tools stay in sync.

Can I export raw data for our data warehouse?

Yes. Customers on enterprise plans can pull raw event-level data via the API or scheduled CSV drops for ingestion into Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or other data warehouses. This lets you blend MapTrack data with HR, finance and project data to build cross-system insight.
