    Asset purchase dates, costs, useful life, salvage values, and depreciation methods sync to Xero Fixed Assets. Book values update automatically as depreciation runs are processed.

    When new assets are added in MapTrack, whether from a purchase order or a bulk import - the acquisition cost and supplier details flow to Xero as fixed asset entries or bills.

What financial data does the MapTrack + Xero integration sync?

The integration syncs asset purchase costs, depreciation schedules, maintenance expenses, and disposal or write-off entries between MapTrack and Xero. When a new asset is added in MapTrack, the acquisition cost and supplier details can create a corresponding Xero fixed asset entry. Ongoing maintenance costs from completed work orders flow to Xero as categorised expenses or bills.

Do I need a Xero Business plan to use this integration?

Full depreciation sync requires the Xero Business plan (formerly Xero Standard or Premium), which includes the Fixed Assets module. If you are on Xero Starter, you can still sync purchase costs and maintenance expenses through standard Xero accounts and contacts, but automated depreciation schedule sync will not be available until you upgrade.

How is depreciation calculated in the integration?

MapTrack supports both straight-line and diminishing value depreciation methods. You set the purchase date, cost, useful life, and salvage value for each asset in MapTrack, and the calculated depreciation syncs to Xero Fixed Assets. Both platforms use the same inputs, so book values stay consistent. You can also adjust depreciation methods per asset or per category to match your accounting policies.

Can I reconcile asset records between MapTrack and Xero?

Yes. MapTrack provides a reconciliation view that compares your physical asset register against the corresponding Xero fixed asset records. Any discrepancies. Missing assets, mismatched book values, or unsynced disposals - are flagged so your finance team can resolve them before reporting periods. A full audit trail links every Xero transaction back to the physical asset in MapTrack.

How do I set up the MapTrack + Xero integration?

Setup takes under two minutes. From your MapTrack account, navigate to Integrations, select Xero, and authorise access through Xero OAuth 2.0. Once connected, map your MapTrack asset categories to Xero fixed asset types, link cost centres to Xero tracking categories, and choose which data points sync automatically. No coding or middleware is required.

Does the MapTrack + Xero integration cost extra?

No. The Xero integration is included on all MapTrack plans at no additional charge. You pay your standard MapTrack per-asset subscription and your existing Xero subscription.
