You'll need

  • A MapTrack account or invitation
  • Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android
  • Camera permission if you will scan QR labels

Steps

  1. Open MapTrack in the supported browser

On iPhone, open Safari. On Android, open Chrome. Go to https://app.maptrack.com and sign in with the account that belongs to your MapTrack workspace.

Good to know: MapTrack is an installable web app. You do not need to search the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  2. Install on iPhone

In Safari, open the Share menu, scroll to Add to Home Screen and confirm Add. The MapTrack icon will appear on the Home Screen.

  3. Install on Android

In Chrome, open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. The wording can vary by Android and Chrome version. Confirm the installation.

  4. Open the installed app

Launch MapTrack from the new Home Screen icon. Confirm that it opens the correct workspace and that the main navigation matches the jobs assigned to your role.

  5. Allow the camera when you first scan

Open the MapTrack scanner and allow camera access when the browser asks. If you previously blocked it, change the permission for app.maptrack.com in the browser or phone site settings.

  6. Test the exact offline job before rollout

Load the exact pages and forms while online, then test the job your team will do without reception. A page needs an internet connection the first time it is visited, and already-imported forms can remain available offline. Other areas still need a network connection.

What you should see

MapTrack opens from a Home Screen icon, the user can enter the intended workspace, previously loaded content is available as expected and camera access works for QR scanning.

Current limits

  • MapTrack is a progressive web app, not a native App Store or Google Play download.
  • Work orders, assignments, reports, maintenance and account administration currently need a network connection.
  • Signing out clears local session data. Do not use sign-out as an offline troubleshooting step unless you are ready to sign in online again.
