Asset label material
Stainless Steel Asset Labels for Australian Equipment
Stainless steel asset labels are for the harshest applications: corrosive washdown, marine exposure, mining, heavy plant and assets where a standard synthetic label is too risky.
Quoted after proof because grade, thickness, fastening, code method and environment materially change the best production path. We quote the production path before payment so the material, code size and mounting method match the asset.

Large
35 × 65 mm
Best fit
- Marine, mining, food, washdown and corrosive industrial environments.
- High-value plant where the tag should outlast standard sticker stock.
- Assets needing mechanical fastening or a rigid, tamper-resistant presence.
Quote or sample first when
- The asset is a small tool where a lower-cost QR label is the better fit.
- Full-colour branding is more important than corrosion resistance.
- The use case can be validated with polycarbonate at materially lower cost.

Every label order is proofed around the asset, scan distance and rollout plan. Standard QR labels can be paid online; metal, barcode and mechanical mounting combinations are confirmed before production.

Washdown, mining and marine environments
Stainless steel is the quote path when corrosion, repeated washdown, salt air, mining mud or cleaning chemicals are the main label risk.
- List the cleaning chemicals, washdown frequency and salt or corrosive exposure.
- Confirm whether the tag needs holes, rivets, screws or specialist adhesive.
- Proof the QR or serial mark against mud, glare and the real scan distance.
- Use stainless only where the environment justifies it; many assets still suit polycarbonate or aluminium.
Sizes by material
Stainless Steel label sizes for tools, plant and equipment
Use the smallest readable label that fits the surface. Larger assets and longer scan distances usually need a larger QR code or a quoted custom plate.
Stainless Steel Small
35 × 17 mm stainless steel asset labels
Best for hand tools, power tools, it assets, small equipment. Quote this size or a custom dimension with mounting and code format confirmed before production.

25 × 50 mm stainless steel asset labels
Best for plant, machinery, fleet vehicles, site equipment. Quote this size or a custom dimension with mounting and code format confirmed before production.
Quote this sizeStainless Steel Large
35 × 65 mm stainless steel asset labels
Best for excavators, heavy plant, containers, trailers. Quote this size or a custom dimension with mounting and code format confirmed before production.

Test the label on real equipment before a large rollout
A useful sample should prove more than material feel. MapTrack ties the label test to the scan workflow, asset record and rollout design.
Describe the cleaning chemicals, exposure and mounting constraints.
MapTrack confirms the best QR or serial format for scan readability.
Use stainless when corrosion resistance matters more than online speed.

Common questions
Labels plus tracking
The label is the entry point to the asset record
MapTrack labels do more than identify equipment. Scanning opens check-out, inspections, history, faults and optional GPS or Bluetooth location workflows.
